Seminars Supporting Expectant Mothers Preparing for Childbirth and Parenting

Thailand, Turkey

First-time expectant mothers face a daunting array of challenges, from pregnancy and childbirth to nursing and caring for newborns. Not knowing what to expect or how to prepare can cause unease or anxiety as childbirth approaches while especially working moms have been increasing in recent years.

Recognizing a need to support these mothers-to-be, Pigeon began holding seminars for them on pre- and post-partum care as part of its efforts to contribute to society. The seminars, held in Thailand since 2013 and in Turkey since 2021, cover a range of topics, including nursing techniques, maternal nutrition, how fathers can support the nursing process, and returning to work while still nursing. This allows mothers to learn about the most relevant themes for the post-childbirth lifestyle they envisage.

In Thailand, approximately 20 to 30 participants join the activities each year. In December 2024, Pigeon received the "CSR-DIW Continuous Award" (an award recognizing companies that strengthen social contribution through CSR), hosted by the Ministry of Industry of the Kingdom of Thailand, for Pigeon’s continuous contribution to local consumers since 2013.

In Turkey, Lansinoh has had a cumulative total of approximately 500 participants in face to face seminars and approximately 6,000 participants in online sessions. These seminars have been highly well-received, as they are held in formats that suit the lifestyles of mothers.

Pigeon will continue pursuing educational activities to address the anxiety felt by mothers-to-be and support them as they prepare mentally and physically for childbirth and the post-partum period.
