Accelerating our sustainability initiatives
to leave a rich planet for tomorrow’s babies
To deepen the ESG management of the Pigeon Group (hereinafter referred to as “the Group”) from a medium- to long-term perspective, we have established the Sustainability Committee directly under the President and CEO to drive our sustainability initiatives. Starting this year (2026), I (Chief Human Resources and Sustainability Officer) serve as chairperson. Together with committee members, we establish policies and long-term goals addressing the Group's sustainability challenges (environmental and social) and steadily advance our initiatives.
Our Group, which always keeps a true focus on babies while advancing our business, aims not only to resolve challenges related to pregnancy, childbirth, and childcare, but also to achieve sustainable growth as a company.
Guided by this vision, the Sustainability Committee has identified and reviewed key issues (materiality) while discussing challenges our group must address to leave a rich planet for babies' futures. December 2022, we established the “Pigeon Green Action Plan,” our mid-to-long-term environmental goals aiming to realize a “Decarbonization,” a “Circular society,” and a “Coexistence with nature.” We are updating these goals and their content to be more challenging based on annual progress and working toward their achievement.
Furthermore, as part of the Sustainability Committee's agenda, we have held repeated discussions on responsibilities expected of a global company, including signing the UN Global Compact, formulating a human rights policy, and deepening initiatives related to respecting human rights. All initiatives contributing to solving social issues can only be achieved through the commitment of the people implementing them, making further understanding and empathy within the company and throughout the entire supply chain indispensable. Therefore, we will intensify our focus on enhancing employee engagement and addressing challenges through human rights due diligence.
To realize our purpose —“We want to make the world more baby-friendly by furthering our commitment to understanding and addressing babies’ unique needs”—the Sustainability Committee will lead the entire group, vigorously advancing our steps toward a sustainable future.
