Awarded sustainability-related award (China)

PIGEON (SHANGHAI) CO., LTD. has been highly recognized for its sustainability initiatives in environmental (recycling) and social (medical care) areas by two awards within China.

Environmental Contribution Recognition: PPSU Bottle Recycling Program

The PPSU*1 Bottle Recycling Program was selected for the “2024 Green Point China - Annual Examples of Sustainable Practices” award. This award is sponsored by Yicai*2 Media Group and aims to promote green development across society by recognizing examples that have achieved the integration of environment and business within China.

The PPSU Bottle Recycling Program has collected over 11 tons of used PPSU nursing bottles from consumers to date. These bottles undergo sorting, crushing, melting, reshaping, and coloring processes, transforming them into everyday items like trays and planters to advance recycling.

Social Contribution Recognition: Preterm Babies Care Program

The Preterm Babies Care Program has been awarded the Responsible China Public Welfare Project Award. This award is organized by The Paper※3 and aims to promote credible examples of sustainable, high-quality development among enterprises and non-profit organizations.

The Preterm Babies Care Program has collaborated with multiple public interest organizations and medical institutions to establish a dedicated fund for medical support of preterm babies. It has also built a comprehensive, multi-faceted care system to support preterm families, including providing relief supplies, conducting training on preterm baby care, and developing human milk bank※4. To date, 13 human milk banks have been established nationwide, providing vital postnatal nutrition to over 9,000 premature babies through these banks.

We will continue our efforts to make this world a more baby-friendly place through various sustainability initiatives.

Each year, it selects and announces awards across 11 categories related to corporate social responsibility.
※4　 Human Milk Bank: A system where breast milk donated by donors who produce more milk than their own children need is properly pasteurized, tested for bacteria, and frozen. It is then provided as “donor milk” to preterm babies and extremely low birth weight babies weighing less than 1,500 grams, upon request from the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit).
