Support for the Art Gallery of Children's Art for the Science of Tomorrow (Japan)

The Art Gallery of Children’s Art for the Science of Tomorrow is a contest and exhibition organized by the Japan Institute of Invention and Innovation, in which children freely express their dreams for the future of science through artwork. Pigeon Corporation has supported the event since 1980. At the awards ceremony for the 48th Art Gallery of Children’s Art for the Science of Tomorrow held on March 26, 2026, Pigeon once more presented the Yuichi Nakata Encouragement Grant to kindergartens and daycare centers that achieved outstanding results.

About the Yuichi Nakata Encouragement Grant

The Art Gallery of Children’s Art for the Science of Tomorrow is an annual art exhibition that has been held since 1979 with the aim of fostering children’s scientific curiosity and creativity. Driven by a strong desire to nurture creativity in young children, our late founder, Yuichi Nakata, made a personal donation to the Japan Institute of Invention and Innovation, leading to the establishment of the Yuichi Nakata Encouragement Grant and a new Kindergarten Division (now the Kindergarten and Daycare Division) starting with the 5th exhibition in 1983.

Ongoing Support and Achievements in Nurturing the Next Generation

To support the fostering of creativity in educational settings, Pigeon has continued to make annual donations to the exhibition and award grants to kindergartens and daycare centers that receive Special Awards or Excellence Awards in their division as part of its social contribution activities. In 2026, six children received Special Awards or Excellence Awards in the Kindergarten and Daycare Center Division from among 7,378 entries submitted from across the country. Furthermore, since 1997, we have consistently featured award-winning works from this division on the cover of our shareholder reports (now known as the “Heart Report” (Japanese only)), and this initiative has been very well received by our shareholders, who report looking forward to receiving each new report.

Bonds Forged Through the Art Exhibition

Pigeon has supported the Art Gallery of Children’s Art for the Science of Tomorrow for so many years now that one child who won an Excellence Award at the 32nd exhibition has since grown up and joined Pigeon as an active member of our staff. We are delighted and proud that our ongoing efforts to nurture the next generation are helping to encourage and attract future colleagues in this way.

In particular, I feel a deep sense of connection and joy knowing that a child who once won an award in this art exhibition has grown up, joined Pigeon, and is now working alongside us as a colleague.
