Halal-Certified Skincare Series Launched (Malaysia)

The Pigeon Group offers products and services designed to support the cultures of countries and regions around the world, as well as the diverse lifestyles of babies and their families. In April 2025, PIGEON MALAYSIA (TRADING) SDN. BHD. (hereinafter “Pigeon Malaysia”) launched the Halal-certified Milky Baby Skincare Series.

What Is Halal Certification?

In Malaysia, more than 60 percent of the population is Muslim.* Under Islamic law, certain substances—such as pork and alcohol—are prohibited, and Muslims avoid these as they live their lives. Halal certification is a system that certifies that products and services do not contain any ingredients prohibited by Islam or use such ingredients in their manufacturing process. This certification makes it possible for Muslims to use products with peace of mind.

Launch of the Milky Baby Skincare Series

To give babies and families in Malaysian market complete peace of mind, Pigeon Malaysia launched the Halal-certified Milky Baby Skincare Series in April 2025. While remaining as gentle on babies’ skin as the existing Natural Botanical Series, this skincare line features a unique fruity fragrance of its own. It has been well received since its launch, selling more than 85,000 units in 2025 alone.

Comments from the Project Team

We launched Milky Baby, our first Halal baby skincare series, to serve Malaysia’s Muslim market. We addressed a key gap: our existing Natural Botanical Baby range lacked Halal certification and fruity fragrance options. Despite our R&D inexperience, we successfully brought the project to life thanks to the support and collaboration of the PIT R&D team and our OEM partner. Looking ahead, we plan to expand this series with different fruity variants to meet all needs.
